Tank out 5 months. Another surgery on the shoulder.
That makes me wonder about the long-term viability of his shoulder. Recovery from those types of surgeries are not to be taken for granted, and to have 2 in the span of 1 year? sigh....

I hope they have his contract insured.

Allen traded to the Habs for a 3rd and a swap of 7ths. It looks like no salary was retained so the blues save $4.35 in cap. Still need to make another move to fit Petro in but this is a much better trade than I thought we'd get for Allen since I thought we'd be paying picks to get rid of his cap with the cap remaining flat.

Allen is, in a vacuum, worth more as a borderline starter/amazing backup, but given that all of North America knows we need to shed salary, the return is fine.

I’d just bet they have a handshake deal worked out with petro but won’t announce it until space is cleared.

Dunn and De La Rose are RFA and need to make room for them (I could seem them just getting rid of De La Rose though)

Steen at 3.5 isn't something they want on the books I'd bet

I’m not so sure they resign Dunn if they keep petro. He likely costs more than scandella, and they have a lot of young left d.

De la rose is replaceable imo.

Edit: then again, if tank goes on ltir, then maybe both (petro and Dunn) fit, assuming about $12m combined for both. I’d have to look at capfriendly but Don’t have the time atm.

forgot about the latest surgery for tarasenko...you're right though, that'll free up more room as you said

Tarasenko missing a lot of the season helps since he'll be LTIR'd. Steen seemingly could be as well. With Mikkola/Perunovich coming up on the left side I think they could trade Dunn and be fine. I'm not sure he and Perunovich can both play in the same d group since they both play a similar game and both need to play sheltered d minutes.

I could still see Bozak sent out as well. I think there are a lot of possibilities.

Dunn is 6 on the purple team.

Wait for it.
