Another impressive win. Krebs and vitale were saying after the game that before tonight, Colorado had scored 2 or more in 30 straight, and we held them to one without parayko.

By all accounts krug looked good. I really think, based on his early season play that he going to pull a Faulk and just be better next year. Know the team and the system and all that.

Oh and I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but I’d seriously consider protecting Perron from Seattle. I hate to protect an older player on a short deal, but he is just so important to what the team does and so affordable. I wonder if he can continue to be effective a bit past the normal aging curve because he plays gritty, has great vision and incredible hands.

Each team can retain 7 forwards, 3 defensemen, and 1 goalie. OR 8 skaters and 1 goalie.

For seattle (from The Athletic):
By rule, the Kraken must select a minimum of 14 forwards, nine defencemen and three goalies, for a total of 26 mandatory selections. The remaining four are up to them.

So, who gets protected? Having not followed the Blues closely this season, I'll throw out my uncertain guess:

O'Reilly
Schwartz
Schenn
Tarasenko
Thomas?
Barbashev?
Perron?

Parayko
Faulk
Krug

Binnington

Big win last night. Coming back from being down 2 goals, twice against a team that had been cruising (won 7 straight). Thomas creating the goal in the closing seconds with hustle and skill. Vegas and Colorado are still superior teams this season, but if the Blues keep playing like this they'll hang right with them once the playoffs start.

Last night was pretty good, but there was a stretch in the second period, maybe ten minutes, where things looked pretty bad. Binnington made some great saves, and the Wild just kept missing the net, but seemed like they had it in the o zone forever.

Kind of funny how Kyrou put on a great move and got robbed, and then kind of flubbed the puck later towards the goal and scored. I like when he and Thomas play together.

But it is great to win a game against a pretty good team, who's goaltender has been pretty hot lately.
