After 4 periods, it's clear beyond a doubt that Colorado is a far superior team.

At least the blues got it to within one twice. Maybe something to build on?

There is something about mackinnon’s shot from the point that just eludes binner and/or finds deflections. Maybe just a super fast release that is super accurate that he doesn’t telegraph. But man. That damn shot alone is beating the blues.

Not looking good. Still no Perron. Faulk and Bortuzzo out. Dunn is "game time decision".

The St. Louis Blues will not have Justin Faulk or Robert Bortuzzo in the lineup for Game 3 on Friday night (8:30 p.m. CT, BSMW, USA, 101 ESPN).

Both players left Wednesday's Game 2 with upper-body injuries and did not return.

Blues Head Coach Craig Berube said Faulk was "doing OK" after a blindside hit from Colorado's Nazem Kadri in the third period Wednesday. Kadri has an in-person hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Friday.

Berube said there was a chance that both Faulk and Bortuzzo could return at some point in the series.

Without those two players for Game 3, though, the Blues' defense is uncertain for now.

Vince Dunn, who has missed 13 games with an upper-body injury, will be a game-time decision. Dunn hasn't played since April 24 against the Avalanche.

Berube's other options on defense include Steven Santini and Mitch Reinke. Both players skated with the team on Friday morning.

Here is a projected lineup for Game 3, although we are unable to project defense pairings at this point.

PROJECTED LINEUP
Forwards

Barbashev - O'Reilly - Kyrou
Schwartz - Schenn - Tarasenko
Hoffman - Bozak - Thomas
Clifford - Sanford - Blais

Defense

Parayko
Krug
Scandella
Mikkola
(Dunn)
(Santini)
(Reinke)

Goalie

Binnington
Tonight's game is a must-win if we have any hope of advancing. A 3-0 hole is just too much to come back from.

I’m not sure the blues can play much better than that, and they were spanked
