Yes, but we have to beat Philly in the NLDS before we can beat Arizona in the NLCS.dmarx114 wrote:Revenge after 10 years would be nice.Jmodene wrote:2001 came down to the last day, but only for seeding purposes - if we had won, we would have been the division winner outright; instead, since we lost (giving Houston the 7-5 season-series advantage) we finished tied with Houston and were seeded as the wild card and we had to play Arizona, the eventual WS champs.
So you're saying there's a chance?

I'll be honest and go ahead and note that former Red Sox Derek Lowe, instrumental in beating us in the 2004 run, has done more than his fair share of helping the Braves slowly fall into oblivion giving us a chance at a run this year.
Thanks, mental gidget!

BTW, it just occurred to me - if we make it to the World Series, even though we're a wild card team, we have Home Field Advantage thanks to the all-star game.
Of course, so did Detroit in 2006.

Can you make a prediction like this tomorrow, too?cpebbles wrote:I'm going Braves win tonight, Cards muster 2 hits and eliminate themselves. Tomorrow, we get a perfect game from Carpenter backed up by 16 runs. This team has been all about pissing away their chances and then rubbing it in our faces with glimpses of the team they should be.

i knew it was something like that. thanksDillagii wrote:In 2006 even if Houston win and Cards lose on final day, we would still be 1/2 game ahead. We had a makeup game against Giants to play if Hou were 1/2 game behind.a_smith wrote:1964
2006?
64-they were tied for first
there were a couple of early 70's teams that finished 1.5 games out-close but not last day stuff

49 cards were one game back on final day (they lost)
there were several teams that won by 2 games or lost by two games
we had 3 teams that finished second by 1.5 games over the years.
this is going to be fun

BP must not have updated their stats. There's NO WAY that we only have a 21% chance of making the playoffs when it's tied with one game left and we're playing the worst team in baseball and the Braves are facing the best team in baseball.vinsanity wrote:61% on ESPN
