I just realized I also have class tomorrow... yea, I hope they rain this 1 out.go birds wrote:hopefully that is the case.
I have class tomorrow so the thought of potentially missing a game 7 in the world series annoys me.

Obviously its MLB's call right? In the regular season it is the home teams decision correct?

If it gets postponed, do we blame La Russa or the players?

It sure seems that way, but the box score really says otherwise.Fat Strat wrote:I've got to say that it sure looks like the Rangers have the advantage doing that.
Game 1 - Rangers 2 runs from Napoli Home Run. Berk and Craig timely hitting.
Game 2 - This was a small ball 9th inning on a fluke single.
Game 3 - hehehehe
Game 4 - Hamilton got 1 in on the double. But 3 runs from the Napoli HR.
Game 5 - 2 runs on HR's, 2 on the Napoli double.
Besides the laugher in game 3, They've got 5 runs on 'execution' and 7 from the long ball. St. Louis has looked ugly, but they seem to be doing it more with singles and moving the runners.

Part of the Cardinals' problem is Holliday and Berkman each have one homer through 16 playoff games and Berkman's came in his first at-bat. It wasn't a big deal when Freese was hitting like Hank Aaron, but when that stopped it became a problem.

I predict an epic game aka game 6 of 2004 NLCS. Berkman is going to deliver a long one to deep right center off of Mike Adams.

Well, when the Rangers needed to "move them over, get them in" - they did just that. Game 2 in the 9th.vinsanity wrote:It sure seems that way, but the box score really says otherwise.Fat Strat wrote:I've got to say that it sure looks like the Rangers have the advantage doing that.

Yes, they've hit a bunch of homers. But compare the Rangers execution to the Cards lack of it. Check LOB for the series.

But they've done it just once. Yes the Cardinals have left gobs of runners on base, but they have moved many of them over and getting them in has been the hard part.Faceman wrote:Well, when the Rangers needed to "move them over, get them in" - they did just that. Game 2 in the 9th.

SH:
Rangers 1, 2, 2, 0, 0
Cardinals - 2, 0, 1, 0, 3
I'm not saying they've done a poor job of it. I'm saying more of their runs have come from HR's than 'small ball'. If we keep the ball in the park we probably win Game 5 at least.
