Not only is he blind, HE CAN'T READ.

One more example of how this should not be possible. We have a blind closer who apparently doesn't have a middle school education. HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?!?!?!?!?!

An example of how far an epic beard can take you.

@JeffPassan The oddest scene by far tonight: Pat Burrell traipsing around the field and clubhouse. Said one Cardinal: "What the hell is he doing here?"
Missed that. wow.
Pat Burrell was born in Arkansas, Cardinals fan land.
Pat the Bat (from the U!!!!!!!!!), is one of Punto's best friends.

Yes, they were teammates with the Phillies when Punto first came up to the bigs 10 years ago. I had forgotten that; I tend to think of Punto as strictly a Twin prior to his coming to the Cards this year.

Speaking of the beard... MLB Network's guys were making a big deal out of Motte's beard and how Wilson was able to parlay the whole thing into all those commercial endorsements and asked Motte if he was going to be following in that direction - Motte's answer was that he didn't really care; he's "not an endorsment kind of guy".

He is a terrific interview.

Dotel couldn’t stop celebrating. Bottle after bottle he shook, popped the cork, sprayed it toward Pujols and repeated the derisive nickname Milwaukee outfielder Nyjer Morgan tagged him with this summer: “Alberta! Alberta! Albertita!”

He wouldn’t stop. Nothing was off-limits here, not in the haze of a championship. As Pujols’ eyes burned and twitched to blink the drink out of them, Dotel kept squirting, yelling, laughing.

“He’s a free agent!” Dotel said. “Alberta! Say hello to my little friend!”

So MLB puts their brand on post game celebration googles? They don't miss a trick. I'm surprised they don't brew their own beer.

He could promote the Hobbit movie as one of the dwarves that didn't go on the expedition.

That is crazy funny. Dotel has been very fun to watch celebrating.

I got cracked up with Motte doing an interview with the MLBnetwork after the game...they asked him the importance of the trade to bring in the Dotel, Scrabble, etc. Immediately Motte said...They didn't help in any way we didn't need them. And just lost it laughing...

It was very funny.
