Yeah. Why would we want more people voting? Doesn't everyone know the government is only for the politicians? All these other people are just messing it up.

Serious question: Instead of a national holiday, why not propose to move it to a Saturday or Sunday?

I represent some cities that have their local elections on Saturday. They do it because they know they get better turnout, which means the candidate who most voters want to win, actually wins.

If your political party's election strategy is "less voters should be able to vote," you're not winning the war of ideas and you do not deserve to hold power.

Or we could just have an Election Week or like a billion other ideas.

thrill is right, though, they know they'll get trounced if more people are actually able to vote.
