2020 Election

Elizabeth Warren is in, as of this morning. Thought it appropriate to start this thread now.

Bernie and Biden will probably run as well. Who else? Will Beto make a run? Kamala Harris? Corey Booker?

And will Trump get "primaried"? (I highly doubt it)

I will most likely vote for whoever the Dems wind up nominating, but I am extremely fearful that they will fvck this up somehow and we'll be stuck with another 4 years of President Mushroom-Dick.

This is early to be announcing isn't it? Seems like a dumb move.

Anyway I like her, I'm not sure she beats Trump. I will vote for anyone with a D by their name.

If Trump wins again we have to have a revolution.

I bet Trump will get primaried by some guy who Trump will absolutely crush.

Kasich sounds like he’s running. Flake says he wants Trump to get primaried, but he and Corker are both in the “won’t rule it out” camp. I’m waiting to see if someone runs as an independent.

I like the move. She reportedly paid a call to Bernie as a courtesy to him to tell him she would be entering the race. I like this move since they're idealogical siblings. I think she's firing a shot too: look, dude, I'm in this and I aim to win. I'm also a lady in the #metoo era running on the same progressivism as you and we saw what suburban ladies did for the party a couple months back, so let's not [expletive] around here: if you get in, I'm here to beat you with your own crowd. (As a progressive and very non-bro-y Bernie donor/volunteer/supporter in 2016, it's likely my money/time/support will go to Warren this time.) I also like that she beat everyone else to the race. She's headed to Iowa soon, which is what one does when one runs, and she'll be the first there and will get some press. She'll be out talking to voters and spinning the Warren brand of Democrat Politics Are Politics Of The People Not The Corporations and other potential candidates who are on the fence about running will get to see how well Warren's early campaigning is going.

I think all those above are probably running, and probably Gillibrand.

For me at the moment it goes:

Bernie
Warren
Gillibrand
Chris Murphy (if he runs)
Kamala Harris
Sherrod Brown (if he runs)
Beto
Booker
Landrieu
Biden and any most other white dude my age and up who's been mentioned - Bloomberg (yech), Delaney (dull MD rep who announced early and nobody knows), the Starbucks guy, Terry McAuliffe

I like your rankings. Policy/principles-wise, I would prefer Brown over Harris, but I think Kamala's electability (women & poc & female poc are winning elections like crazy right now) and her unflappability make her much more electable than him.

I give her a little edge because she seems more aggressive/assertive/willing to fight, and Brown isn't on the Medicare for All train.
