heyzeus' All time best songs with a whistling solo

brb, adding a sixth song to my playlist.Jocephus wrote: ↑January 22 24, 1:58 pmi'm not going to vote in any that i made a list for but knew this likely wouldn't win. this board leans way too heavy on sad, depressing, lo-fi, slow, indie singer/songwriter stuff and so anything with a groove is not likely to do well...which technically applies to all my lists but i figured this list of claypool stuff would garner the least interest...but he's my favorite musician so i had to try.
technically the first song on my list has a whistling solo. ah well.
I REALLY tried Joce. Listened to every moment of your playlist. But just couldn't get into it.Jocephus wrote: ↑January 22 24, 1:58 pmi'm not going to vote in any that i made a list for but knew this likely wouldn't win. this board leans way too heavy on sad, depressing, lo-fi, slow, indie singer/songwriter stuff and so anything with a groove is not likely to do well...which technically applies to all my lists but i figured this list of claypool stuff would garner the least interest...but he's my favorite musician so i had to try.

was arguably the best part. the show switched around from Primus, Ween and Trey/Matt stuff but when Primus played...holy sheet...i felt les' bass go thru me...and it was amazing...and I was at least half way up the seating.BottenFieldofDreams wrote: ↑January 23 24, 12:32 pmBut also too goddam loud in that bassy, hurts your bones and your head kind of way that earplugs don’t help a ton with.
The young lady is wrong 'cause Primus wrote the South Park theme. Ween has collaborated with the South Park guys though. I'm a big Ween fan, er, I have maybe 4 or 5 of their records and enjoy them quite a bit. They certainly have their followers. I remember when I was messing around with this Canadian gal, she and her group of friends really loved Ween. Their performance at the South Park concert I think was considered a "big deal" 'cause I'm pretty sure they had been broken up/not speaking for quite a period of time, they've only "recently" gotten back as Ween. Even though it was the South Park 25th anniversary, I was there for Primus 1st and foremost, Ween 2nd and then the south park guys.BottenFieldofDreams wrote: ↑January 23 24, 2:12 pmDude. The kids love Ween. Weirdest thing.
I went to see Big Thief last summer. Least relevant guy there. Saw five 20-something’s in a Ween shirt. One guy in the shirt also with a Ween calf tattoo. I was only slightly familiar with them. Remember the sexy album cover and that they were vaguely jam bandy. I expected to be the only guy with no septum piercing or tattoo, but a Ween shirt?
Later at one of the snob ice cream shops around town. I asked the young lady wearing a Ween tshirt ‘so you’re into Ween?’ I was too curious and hopefully not creepy. And she said she was because how can you deny the band that did the South Park theme. So Ween is bigger than Primus, even. Or maybe they’re actually just into the tshirts.
