Got my Wilco tix yesterday. They really bring it live.BottenFieldofDreams wrote: ↑May 30 23, 7:39 pmFine then:BottenFieldofDreams wrote: ↑September 12 22, 11:23 amFeel free to recoil at "Dave Matthews Band," but skip this unbelievable guitar solo at the risk of missing a view of eternity.
Derek Trucks truly transcends the instrument.

Thanks! I'll have to check that out.
Speaking of 'old punkers', I'm going to see Descendents/Circle Jerks this Saturday in Milwaukee.

Oh [expletive]. I thought the opener was going to be some jerkoff modern country guy (don’t recall the name, but I’ll guess he sings about good times on dusty roads in blue jeans only less creative than I make it sound like all the other jerkoffs).BottenFieldofDreams wrote: ↑June 12 23, 9:35 amGOING TO SEE WILLIE!!!

But that’s Friday. On Sunday it’s freaking Nathaniel Rateliff and the Nightsweats. And Mt. Joy is a nice little bonus.
Also seeing Buddy Guy (last OG bluesman), Big Thief, and my current obsession Delgres this summer. Going to be good. Don’t choke out my fun, fires.

Man, this album is so meaningful to me. When I was real little Young MC’s Stone Cold Rhymin’ hooked me. Then I got into Garth Brooks and stuff and hip hop didn’t reach me again until someone loaned me Regulate… G Funk Era and something about my age at the time and how amazing and incredibly foreign and transgressive (as a sweet Mormon boy I probably understood 3.5% of it) that album was just an atomic bomb in my life.
Still sounds great too.

Until Harvilla mentioned it very briefly without any detail, I was totally unaware of Sinead getting booed off the stage at a Dylan tribute in 92. What a stupid effing BOB DYLAN crowd.
I obviously knew that Kris Kristofferson is badass. Recently watched his performance with Norah Jones at Willie’s 90th which was touching and amazing.
But I was totally unfamiliar with his defense of Sinead at that Dylan tribute and the song he recorded later:

What a wonderful rock and roll story.

I'm going to say something very odd for me. My wife and I went to see Old Dominion Friday night. They were fantastic. I'm really not into that modern country music but they put on a great show. Very akin to Springsteen. Lots of energy, interaction between the band and crowd, etc. I've been to over 100 concerts and I'd put them in my top 10.

I'm listening to REM's "New Adventures in HiFi" for the first time since like 1997, and it was good! "Be mine" and "Leave" are standouts but the whole album really works together so well.
