Nomadland is incredible. I avoided it for a while thinking it would be too heavy. But the way pain is always present but the story is always about the people, not the pain, is beautiful. It's almost like the pain is usually held just out of frame. The characters avoid it, and wrestle with it, and break through it to find moments of peace and wonder. At least in my experience, it was like watching snake charming or something.

I'm very curious how it was made--as most of the cast weren't actors, but were excellent. Did Zhao just film conversations with loose direction? That's what I picture.

Has anyone devoted the four hours to watching the Snyder Cut of Justice League yet?

Because I have. Worth it. IMO.

If you're into art house type films and/or are a big Kate Winslet fan... check out Ammonite. Also has Saoirse Ronan (Lady Bird, Little Women, etc). Slow to build, but has a nice payoff for you Kate fans ;-)

I went to see Godzilla v. King yesterday. It's what you'd expect with more plot holes than a screen door. But, damn, what a fun movie to watch.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I just watched Inherent Vice.

Really liked it but, shoot, it came out 7 years ago.

Time sure flies don't it?
