I finally finished The Good Place on Netflix. That's gotta be the best network show since Seinfeld, right? The ending was beautiful.
It's basically the anti-Seinfeld -- it's a show about everything instead of nothing, and instead of irredeemable characters behaving hilariously badly, it's redeemable characters figuring out how to stop behaving badly.

I have no doubt The Good Place is the best scripted network show since....I dunno, glory day Simpsons? It's in the pantheon.

Imagine thinking "I'm going to do a 30 minute network sitcom about the afterlife and moral philosophy. Most episodes will name check Kant and heavily reference What We Owe To Each Other. I expect a prime time slot on one of the major networks and four seasons." AND THEY DID IT.
Agree with everything you've said. I honestly think The Good Place is better than Seinfeld, but I gotta give respect where it is due. The show is a triumph and is exactly what this world needs right now. I'm blown away they were able to make that show work.
Goddammit, you guys are going to make me try to set aside my inability to tolerate that one annoying as hell character and pick this up where I left off, aren’t you?

Anybody else watching Designated Survivor?

I am digging it.
I just started watching this. It is kind of creepy to watch right now.

There is a pandemic story line along with civil rights and an argument about statues and history. Holy cow it seems too real.

Watched Succession a second time through with my wife. Kind of hate how that show is so good even though all the characters are so loathsome. All the palace intrigue stuff is compelling, but so is seeing what little bits of humanity come out of them once in a while. It's an inverse of most dramas in that the most wholesome character is also the best character, though I could see arguments for people liking others more. Corona has delayed filming until December at the earliest, so the 3rd season will be awhile.

There's a Saved by the Bell reboot coming soon. Zack, Kelly, Jesse, and Slater will be playing adult versions of themselves. It's dripping in irony. Will I watch it? I mean, probably.

I'm psyched for Community. Joel McHale is delightful. Apparently you can watch the first episode online if you are a friend to the show on the facebooks. Since I don't have the facebooks, I can't watch it }:>(
Jesus. This website is old.

I believe Screech was not invited back to the set, nor was Lisa Turtle. Tragic. I think they're both tremendous weirdo a-holes now, so that's pretty much it.
