Spending A Week In San Fran, CA and Looking For Suggestions

Post by go birds »

Heading out the SF for a wedding next week and will be there for a solid week.

Already on the itinerary is Alcatraz tour (wanted a night tour but it appears they are either not offering that or they are all booked so if anyone can offer more insight on that, lemme know) and Redwood National Forrest.

What else? We are staying in Pacific Heights and are looking for the best mode of transportation, i.e. some sort of pass that we can buy that will make transportation accessible for all over the city.

Thanks GRBros

We rented a car for tooling around highway 1, heading into Marin County and Muir Woods. BART can get you most urban areas. Midwest bumpkins like us had no problem figuring it out.

Hopefully the Federal Gubmit has reopened for business by then, as Alcatraz and the Redwood National Forest currently closed.

I'd also recommend eating CHOWDA out of a sourdough breadbowl at Fisherman's Wharf, then going next door to the Ghiradelli factory for some dessert. Even our radical marxist socialist kenyan muslim president can't close that!

Sorry, I don't know too much about SF except for the usual touristy stuff (and it is one of the better cities for that).

I second zeus. Muir Woods is well worth the trip.

Stop in Sausalito afterwards and grab a bite and a brew.

+1

Levi Strauss is HQ'd near Nob Hill and Fisherman's Wharf. Some good grub at the Wharf. Great sites of the Bay too.
