I Like This Place (forum)
First off, I'm a genuine St. Louis Cardinal fan. Can't remember when I first started listening and watching the Cardinal baseball games. Must have been way back in early 1960's when I was eighteen years old.
I, occasionally watch some of the KC Royal games. Retired six months ago and got my first computer in September. The company I worked for wanted me to have a computer. I told them I didn't have any desire to learn or bang around on a keyboard as it seems work related.
Anyway, hope to apply some of my Cardinal knowledge, and enjoy the members here on their opinions and knowledge.

I really like this forum since there is a lot of really smart fans here but not too many. When you go to a really popular forum you post a reply and next thing you know it's 3 pages down since the traffic is to much or that it's not a very organized forum where they're making multiple threads about the same thing. Plus it's great to have a forum with only intelligent people and no trolls.

Who are these "circle jerks"?lukethedrifter wrote:I like the circle jerks.
BTW. If any of you Cards fans are in my neighborhood...Joplin, Mo. Come about 7 miles west on I44 and exit on Highway 166 to the Downstream Casino. Great place...I don't know about the tables/slots there, but, they have one of the best restaurant all you can eat for $9.99. About six different cuisines.

Welcome to the site! Since it seems like you are new to the internet thing, here's a useful site to look up slang terms.Been There wrote:Who are these "circle jerks"?lukethedrifter wrote:I like the circle jerks.
When a bunch of blowhards - usually politicians - get together for a debate but usually end up agreeing with each other's viewpoints to the point of redundancy, stroking each other's egos as if they were extensions of their genitals (ergo, the mastubatory insinuation). Basically, it's what happens when the choir preaches to itself.
Also refers to a pompous, self-congratulatory discussion where little to no progress is made.
A group discussion or activity between like-minded individuals that validates mutual biases or goals in a non-confrontational environment.
Though it's possible luke is referring to the more literal definition. I don't go to all the GRB parties.A useless discussion or meeting involving mental masturbation whereby the egotistical, boring participants try to demonstrate they're the smartest persons in the room.
