How does that work, is it that there isn't a new partner that backfills the aged out one? Are partners responsible for driving new business(either directly or by virtue of their names attracting folks)?

Re: The Penske File
If the aged out partner doesn't leave, and doesn't transition his or her clients to a younger attorney, and keeps his or her office but only comes in 4 or 3 or 2 days a week, and only bills 1/3 of what they used to (but essentially blocks someone willing to work 100% of the time from utilizing the firm resources, ie, office space and support staff), then there can be no backfilling.Transmogrified Tiger wrote:How does that work, is it that there isn't a new partner that backfills the aged out one? Is it the lawyer version of picking up a cush consultant job that makes the retirement years filled with fancy vacations and nice cars etc? Otherwise why?

Already digging into this file. Was hoping to play some golf this afternoon and tomorrow but mother nature had other plans. Looks like I'll be moving the papers from a single file into an expandable one.

The Penske file is now all digital. I have the Penske spreadsheet all over my computer screens, except the one looking at grilled street corn ideas. Fortunately I have some papers to scatter around the desk to make it real
