given the straight male dominance on this board, I'm curious how a "hottest dude" tourney would go.

90s would be fun because that decade was all over the place musically.

For movies we could do Best Western, best comic book movie, best sports movie.
I like best sports movie
I like the sports movie idea also... but I just know it will get me all worked up when a movie 'based on a true story' beats something else that isn't. If you really want to set me off, tell me what a great movie Remember the Titans is. I loved that movie until I found out the truth and the movie is now ruined. I'd still love it if they left off the 'based on a true story' part. The only truths are the names of a couple of the characters, the fact that they won the title and the star linebacker getting in an accident and being paralyzed. And even then, the accident was well after the season was over.

The fact is that they were the last integrated team in their conference, they didn't face a single all-white team and the school itself had been integrated for SIX YEARS before the football team finally integrated. Heck, they outscored their opponents by something like 300 points on the season and were ranked second in the nation from the very beginning. The only thing Disney changed that I don't really have an issue with is where somebody throws a brick through the coach's window. In reality it was a toilet or something like that.

It's been years since I read a complete breakdown of the differences between the movie and reality so I'm sure I've forgotten a lot of other inaccuracies that completely change the story. Remember the Titans is possibly the worst of its kind when it comes to the truth and honestly the movie kind of ruined anything that is supposedly based on a true story for me. The main reason for me is that too many people see these movies and take them as the truth without ever knowing how much 'artistic liberty' was taken.

Give me something stupid like Benchwarmers any day over stuff like Remember the Titans. Sports movies that aren't supposedly based on a true story for the win in my book!

After that last post I feel like the oldest man in the world sitting on my front lawn and yelling at kids to stay off my lawn. I still regret nothing though.

How do you relate to every moment of your life Tim? Nary w thought goes through my mind without passing through the Simpson's filter.
