For TV episodes, I'd mention "Everybody Tells the Truth," a Rashomon-like episode on All in the Family on racial perception.

There's also the Emmy-award winning episode "Chuckles Bites the Dust" on the Mary Tyler Moore Show.

And the MASH episode "Yankee Doodle Doctor" about sabotaging a romanticized documentary of MASH units during the Korean War.

I grew up loving the Rockford Files episodes such as "Beamer's Last Case" or "Nice Guys Finish Dead."

And, if this tourney includes "good bad" shows, I'd like to nominate the punk-rock episode of Quincy.

My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance Season 1 (dunno if there was more than that)
Deadwood Seasons 1-2
Band of Brothers
Planet Earth (the one with Sigourney Weaver)

There's the definitive list of best television seasons ever. And, if by some chance you disagree, then get a brain moran.
BoB would count?

According to wikipedia BoB is a TV mini-series which sounds a lot like a show, but it's not my idea so I'll leave that up to luke.

A few weeks ago I was complaining that I needed a good show to binge and that there wasn't much on TV at the moment, then I watched Mindhunter and rolled straight into The Leftovers thanks to this post. Both great, but The Leftovers is going to really stick with me I think. Not sure how I missed it the first time around.

The premise didn't do much for me, so I held off for a while. I also heard it was depressing. It can be, but it's also uplifting in great and strange ways.
