We are out. Italy has just exploded. It’s up to 7375 cases and 366 deaths. We canceled our Airbnb’s today and are waiting to hear from Swiss Air regarding refund/rebooking options.
Hope you can still make your trip, Geddy.

That's a bummer, Rad. But better to be safe than sorry. Things sound really bad over there.

Damn Rad. Sorry to hear that.
We are leaving Thursday morning. If we were planning on going to Italy we would have probably cancelled, but the other places aren't nearly as bad off as Italy.
I just had a conversation with a coworker. I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that it's going to get to me sooner or later. I'm going to try to keep it away as long as possible, but the way it's spreading, something like 1B people will have had by May/June. It's pretty inevitable.

Annnnnd cancelled. If Trump had waited one more day to close off travel to Europe we would've gone. Not sure if we will be able to recoup any of the airfare costs. We can't get through at all It was all set up through Travelocity and involves 3 different airlines. Ugh. I did get about 3/4 of our Air Bnb money refunded though so it's not a TOTAL loss

Sorry to hear that, Geddy. Most airlines are rebooking with no fees (unfortunately difference in air fare isn’t covered). I’m going to push for a refund since there is no way to pick new dates at this time. The problem is getting through to them - we can’t even get into the queue because call volume is so high.
Hopefully we can both make it over there when/if something resembling normalcy returns.

That sucks Geddy.
I'm fairly certain I'm going to cancel our trip to Greece in late Apr. Oh well. First world problems, it's just money, etc.

Damn, and I felt bad telling my kids we weren't going to go to Chuck E. Cheese next week....

Swiss Air just notified me that our flights are canceled which means we qualify for a refund.
