I was in Medford 1.5 years ago Joey Baloney...where was my invite to come over for a hot meal?

Stay safe.
That’s when i was there, hanging out with Joe & his fam. Why didn’t you hang with us?

I was afraid we'd have to share a bunk. Actually I was afraid we wouldn't get to share a bunk. That's it.

We're ok, thanks Luke. No power, going to a nearby hotel for the duration. Taking it day to day.

EDIT: The Guardian with an article about the crazy rumors about this fire. FWIW, the hill we live on is the next one to the right just off this picture at the top of the article:

My wife is tired of me saying "we live in a beautiful place." We love it here. We don't have to worry about tornadoes, blizzards, or stultifying humidity. But these fires, yeesh.

A good description of where I live now.

My wife, daughter, and I went down to Talent for the first time this afternoon and then I came back to see this article in the NY Times. It's disorienting to go through a place you used to know that is no longer there. In 1989 we lived through the Huntsville, Al November tornado that destroyed a major commercial plaza. That was the same feeling. But here it isn't just a couple of streets, it's half the town. And two thirds of another.

What a country. What a year.

Devastating article, Joe. Do you know the status of your house/neighborhood?
