So, if you buy something, like Miller Park, are you allowed to paint it, like a vagina, so that anyone in the metaverse has to see it? Because, I'd like to paint Miller Park like a big vagina. And, I'd like to buy Wrigley Field and trim the outfield ivy to say 'cubs suck'. And buy Great American Ballpark and fill it will [strikethrough]poop[/striketrhough] skyline chili.heyzeus wrote: ↑April 21 22, 3:38 pmI guy I knew from college is the founder of Superworld, one of those metaverse real estate companies. He explained it to me basically saying that if you own the "property" you can put up signs or ads or i guess videos so that when people look at your property, they see it.
How it sounds to me: imagine looking at a place on google street view. It's a place, and people can look at it. Hey honey, I just bought the Gateway Arch! But you "own" the virtual image of that place. Hooray, amazing, sign me up.

Can I buy a piece of real estate and put a sarcophagus over it? Is there zoning in the metaverse? Setbacks? Curious minds want to know.

Superworld appears to overlay real life maps. The others I think just make up their own grid. I found a WSJ video about it. I just don't understand why location is so critical. Do you really have to walk in place with your goggles in your sock in the living room over to where you want to go next? I'm guessing something like the address bar will still exist.
People will be trying to sell stuff out of their location like augmented online shopping, and offer games and casinos and stuff, and you should be able to do it all with your friends. But this real estate part of it doesn't make a ton of sense to me yet. Maybe having a plot next to wherever Carmen Electra has her Metaverse Only Fans club is the exposure your product needs?

If you can't do these things, then there is no use case for the metaverse that I'll ever care about. But yeah, like most crytpo stuff, I'm pretty sure it's designed just to be another bland commodities investment.AWvsCBsteeeerike3 wrote: ↑April 21 22, 4:04 pmSo, if you buy something, like Miller Park, are you allowed to paint it, like a vagina, so that anyone in the metaverse has to see it? I bought tickets for a Jack White concert and found out that I got a unique, digital NFT of my ticket (not sure if all of those terms are strung together correctly) as a bonus. How exactly do I go about selling it for millions?
