Happy Pride Month

Post by GeddyWrox »

Just like black history month, Pride shouldn't be relegated to one month. However, celebrating Pride Month seems especially important this year.

Happy Pride to @CardsofSTL and any other LGBTQ folks we have, either out or not.

Weird, the Timbers version is identical but no sponsor on the back.

But more to point, Happy Pride month everyone. Be free.

I have last year's pride jersey from Philly, not because I'm a Philly fan, but because their sponsor is Bimbo and I thought a tie dye pride jersey that says bimbo on the front is cool. Same deal where most teams used the same template.

I wish teams had a little more autonomy over these things: Pride, child cancer, earth day. The universal template puts me off a bit—I don’t/won’t get it. I guess the NBA actually does the same thing. Maybe the Timbers Army has some homebrew Pride clothing. I do have a Pride hat.

I want more individualized jerseys full stop. The adidas template jerseys is the worst thing in MLS and I believe genuinely holding them back culturally beacuse their stuff isn't cool. Portland should be the Venezia of MLS, but they can't because they get whatever Adidas gives them. honestly that's why I liked that Sailor Jerry tattoo alt kit. At least it was wildly different.

But this isn't a soccer fashion thread. Back to pride.
