I'm noticing the increasing prevalence of bot postings, and I wondered whether their might be some inexpensive or automated way to filter bogus registrations.
I'm certainly not attacking the mods or the site, but simply noticing a wave of these obtrusive postings, especially in the morning.

During the upgrade my bot prevention software was overwritten tonight I plan to add protection. I appreciate the suggestion!

I tried to add a new screen name using my blackberry's email address and never got the link to register.

I temporary turned off user registrations. I need to solve this bot issue.
