The P-D website is as bad as Hochman's writing. It will suck your phone battery dry.

I loathe newspaper websites that think I want to watch a video of them talking about a subject. Your craft is writing. If I'm going to take in your content, that's how I'm gonna do it.

I can't stand news websites that want you to pay for their content (always way too much when you can get the same news somewhere else for free) and then they still want to bombard you with ads once you get past the paywall. Those sites can go to the bad place as far as I'm concerned.

I agree. I guess they think they have to do it but I wish they wouldn't.MrCrowesGarden wrote:I loathe newspaper websites that think I want to watch a video of them talking about a subject. Your craft is writing. If I'm going to take in your content, that's how I'm gonna do it.

Jesus...Yep, Barry Bonds spent a week and a half at the Fowler home in Las Vegas. Would've loved to be a fly on the wall, listening to tales of flies over the wall.

Cringe:
http://www.stltoday.com/sports/columns/ ... user-shareNow, Greg Garcia might not even be the most famous Greg Garcia — and you’ve probably not even heard of that Greg Garcia.
Google the name, and there’s TV producer Greg Garcia, he of “My Name Is Earl,” “Yes, Dear” and “Raising Hope.”

Hochman is some CS graduate student's attempt at automating sports journalism.

Good lord. He needs to just stop. You can tell he is trying way too hard and he just doesn't have it. There are some that come up with great stuff naturally. Those ones are great. It just sounds so forced from Hochman and it is horrible.

Re: Hochman
Maybe it's not a fair comparison because they are two different writers, but this is a column the late, great Joe Strauss wrote in September 2015 about Jaime Garcia. It's a column that praises Jaime and summarizes his rise after frustrating the Cardinals for so long. This is the level the Post-Dispatch should have been working to replace.
