Trying something new. What is your favorite gin?
I went to a distillery a few months ago and had a gin and tonic for the first time and I really enjoyed it.
Since then I have ordered a few and have found that I really like Hendrick's, but do not care for Tanqueray.
Was at wedding this past weekend and had Seagram's. No thanks.

I would probably like it but I just can't do gin and tonic thanks to childhood trauma.
Every summer growing up I would go camping with my grandparents and their friends and the cooler always had two glass bottles in it that looked the same other than the cap. The orange cap was a bottle of water. The green cap was filled with gin and tonic. I mistakenly poured myself a glass from the wrong bottle once and took a huge drink. As a 12 year old, I didn't quite care for the unexpected gulp of gin and tonic.
And of course I've also done a shot or two of gin in my stupider days that wasn't exactly great. A friend had a moving away party in Forest Park and filled a pinata with airline bottles of booze. I ended up with a variety and the next weekend when I was visiting friends at Northwest Missouri State we were drinking and I passed out the bottles to take as shots. I ended up with the gin. Shots of gin are not recommended.

I love gin in cocktails, but I'm not a massive fan of the most common London Dry gins. I love Old Tom gin - Martinez is perhaps my all-time favorite cocktail and it calls for old tom. I'm a also a big fan of Genever, which I don't think is technically a gin.

I think Hendricks is quite good and arguably the best mass produced spirit on the market.

If you drink gin and tonics the biggest question isn’t the gin but the tonic. Those high fructose corn syrup ones are garbage and it’s crazy to put that stuff over a lovely distilled spirit. Get Fever Tree or
Fentiman’s. I have to run but will post some gin thoughts later.

I actually was going to just use my filtered water and carbonator that I have and make my own. Put a slice of lime on the rim and let her rip.
