Boss's boss's boss calls a meeting for tomorrow...

...to talk about "changes".

Definite rant. You know this never ends well.

If I wake up to an email from HR, I think I'll know where it's headed.

No email from HR, so I've got that going for me.

Keep us posted. They're probably just upgrading the k-cups in the break room to a Nespresso (fingers crossed).

Nothing. Bullet dodged. These managers need to be sensitive to how this crap is perceived.

Or maybe I'm so old and remember attending three of these sessions where I was liquidated (and a fourth instance where I was met as soon as I got to my desk and escorted right back out of the building) that others don't share that particular muscle memory.

I've been in IT since 1998. I have been throw several downturns in the market as well. I would have worried just the same as you.

I've been wanting to say the same thing to our VP of Sales the past month. Every week he sends out an email with a list of 'Drivers and Drainers' meaning the sales people who have shipped the most dollars in protection plans (for furniture) and the drainers are those who haven't shipped any furniture with a protection plan the previous week. The problem is that for a long time we literally haven't had any product to ship out that could use a protection plan because we weren't getting shipments from the manufacturers. I was getting really ticked off and wanting to cuss him out every time I saw that email and tell him that if he could get us the f'ing product that we can sell the plans on, then we'd be able to. Sure enough, when we finally started getting product again last week... we started getting deliveries out with protection plans on them. Crazy how that works huh?

Sounds like a VP who needs to [expletive] himself with a bedpost (preferably one with a protection plan). Praising in public is great, but criticizing in public is complete [expletive].
