Tony Larussa is a pro, too. Should we never criticize his decisions?

Freinds with Parcells, Belichek, and Bobby Knight....take a wild guess. The Press fear them

The biggest thing to criticize in this whole mess has flown under the radar: Why on God's white frozen earth was Collins the backup QB? Why is he on the roster? Jerry ... Lovey .. that's on you.

If you are a Bears Fan, you would know the Bears are notoriously cheap when it comes to paying Quarterbacks. The last decent QB The Bears had was Jim McMahon IMO.

Collins is was he is, a Cheap backup

It's an interesting twist to the debate on why they played Cutler in week 17 if they weren't going to go all out to beat the Packers.
There were three choices:
A) Go balls out and try to knock the Packers out of the playoffs. If you succeed you play either the Giants, Eagles or Falcons in the NFC championship game which who knows? Maybe they win against those teams.
B) Sit Cutler entirely and start Collins. We get even more evidence that he shouldn't be number two which possibly leads them to play Hanie at #2 and possibly pull out an unlikely victory. As unlikely as it is, they'd have a better chance than the plays they wasted with Collins.
C) Play Cutler but don't play to win, which we know how that panned out.

So basically they made a terrible decision in week 17 that could have proven to be the difference in why they lost the NFC title.

You really think they laid down in Week 17? I'm not so sure.

Personally, I think the Packers were just the better team........ in Week 17 and in the NFC Championship game.

I'm not going to go dig up quotes and all that, it's here somewhere.

Suffice it to say, according to Mike Martz, they played to win but didn't create a scheme for the Packers specifically. They tried to run their offense regardless of scouting. It was an odd choice.

The defense also didn't scheme, but really they never do. They run the same stuff regardless.

So you're right, they didn't lay down. They also didn't pull out all the stops to win. This according to quotes from Martz, Cutler, Matt Forte etc. Odd choice to play your starters the whole game.

And McMahon really was only decent. It's amazing that the Bears have had one great QB in their history, Sid Luckman.
