I had Stephie's Choice last time at LeGrands and it was pretty good. Good enough to be my third favorite off of their menu.

It was ok...Legend is still king. Probably my 3rd favorite after Legend and El Birdo.Freed Roger wrote:Expand your horizons - Legrands Rockin Rooster.

I have to hit up LeGrand's again over Thanksgiving break.
I can't believe I grew up not three blocks from the place as a kid (and went there several times with my parents during that time) and never knew about the place until this thread happened.

The only thing I've ever had from their menu that I might say you should avoid is the meatball sub. The only reason I got it is because it was the daily special, and it was really "meh". Everything else has been dynamite to varying degrees.Cronos69 wrote:I have to hit up LeGrand's again over Thanksgiving break.

Anyone been to Fozzie's Sandwich Emporium on Big Bend? My friend just went and said it was really good. I guess they grow some of their own produce, which is sort of cool.
Ranges from the Club Med with chicken, roasted peppers, squash and a lemon vinaigrette on flatbread to The Cardiac, which is a bacon burger, that looks like it's topped with slaw, chili, and a hot dog somehow.

I remember someone posting that menu before. That place sounds awesome.haltz wrote:Anyone been to Fozzie's Sandwich Emporium on Big Bend? My friend just went and said it was really good. I guess they grow some of their own produce, which is sort of cool.

Pretty good. More expensive than the Legrands stuff, different though -had the Big Bend Mafia, Black and Blue, and Da-Dip which is top-notch french dip. Their indoor seating area is miniscule, so this time of year you should count on carrying out.

Fozzie's is pretty good. I'd place it very solidly behind LeGrand's and BCD, but well ahead of Mom's and the Macklind Deli.
I've had the Big Bend Mafia, the Italian Grinder, and the Italian Beef.
They desperately need to hire an editor to clean up their menu.
