They showed the Reds TV feed of his homer last night and the announcers were strutting just like Phillips, saying that would shut the crowd up.

I wonder what he'd say if the Cardinals picked him up. He doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would do a lot of backtracking to save face, but that would be a funny scenario.

I'm sure it would just be the normal "Just having some fun, building a rivalry, trying to pump my team up, getting the fans excited" stuff.

I'm pretty sure he already does this. The mlbnetwork feed said he was saying the boos were pretty weak during the game last night right before he hit that home run.
