Yeah, he should probably just stop watching.

Episode 10's final two scenes might win him back, but I doubt it. He definitely shouldn't watch season 3 if it gets made.

Robbotis and other non-book readers don't read this part, or else:
[SHOW]
He might cry during the Red Wedding. (I wont say more because I know at least one of you clicked this spoiler anyway. Begone!)
I have a friend who just started the books concurrent with the beginning of this season. He's finished G of T at this point. He keeps texting me theories about Robb and the rest of the Starks and it's really funny reading his predictions.

Before non-readers start making wild assumptions about what thrill and I are hinting at: Yes, lots of people are going to die or really bad things are going to happen to them. All over the place. But lots of people also become really, really awesome and do awesome things, so it's worth continuing.

One of my favorite characters by the end of book 4 was one of my least favorite characters in book 1. One of my favorites of book 1 I have completely soured on, and am uninterested in said character's continuing story arc. Book 1 is basically a crazy introduction to the different houses. Books 2 and 3 are where things get particularly hairy. And I'm talking Salma Hayek arm hairy.

[expletive] gets real.

I'm rereading the series in anticipation for A Dance with Dragons next month and am 1/4 of the way through Feast of Crows again. Picked up on so much stuff the second time through the series that I missed before.

Can't wait. Well, I guess I will have to wait. A long time for all the seasons to play out.
I wonder if should just start reading the books? Or would it take a part of the enjoyment of the show.
Thanks to all for keeping future events noted and and in spoilers.

Well, I am more of a bookworm than a TV guy, and Martin's series is basically my favorite epic fantasy series, so I enormously recommend reading the books, provided you're into that sort of thing. Each one is about 1000 pages, you'll get a ton more character development, and most importantly, get a feel for a ton of the backstory that the TV series can't really explain. The events leading up to the books are almost as important as what is going on in them, it feels like. And the books give you more juicy hints, foreshadowings, and teasers about some big, big plot reveals/twists, some of which haven't even happened yet through four books.

For instance, it's never really openly spoken of that Renly and Loras are lovers, not just buddies and both rather effeminate. It's easy enough to figure out, but it's more fun to put it together through other characters' talking about them, etc. The TV show had to show Loras shaving Renly, which was pretty lame.

Going back ad rewatching Breaking Bad the last few weeks and somthin really bugs me.
[SHOW]
Lots of foreshadowing/insinuating that has happened and hopefully it'll get explained, but what happened to Walt? He was with the one girl, they were gonna start that company and he was gonna be rich.

Even if he just wanted to be a teacher, he seemed so smart and confident in the 'flashbacks'. Did he really fall that hard for Skylar and let her break his spirit that bad? It seems like something had to have happened.

but yet, they didn't renew rubicon...i know it's ratings, but i think rubicon was a much better show than the killing (and i think killing is a good show, i just really enjoyed rubicon).
