Rubicon sucked. I gave up on it when it became clear they were just baiting viewers along by creating secrets to withhold. Which is fine, I suppose, but there didn't seem to be much else to the show.

Well I loved it, because the way the secrets were unraveled was thorough and made sense. The Killing creates red herrings for the hell of it, with no rhyme or reason other than they want to be the red herring show. "Hey viewer, you know this one character, who we've gone out of our way all season to show their humanity and basic goodness? Guess what? That character is a bastard liar without any indication or plot development to indicate anything of the sort! Guess what else? You know the central question of the show, the question we built all of our promotional advertising around to draw you in, Who Killed Rosie Larsen? Guess what? We're not going to tell until a full year after the show airs. You can take Checkov's gun and shove it up your ass because we do whatever the hell we want. Like LOST, but without any of the cool build up!"

I'm guessing thrill has either read this already, or will agree with 99.9% of it.

Let's talk Game of Thrones now.

We're really getting into the meat of the action.
[SHOW]
DRAGONS!
RIDING NORTH OF THE WALL!
TYRION GOING TO KING'S LANDING TO RUN [expletive]!
ROBB BEING DECLARED KING IN THE NORTH!
BRAN AND RICKON HAVE PSYCHIC DREAMS!
SHAGGY DOG IS AWESOME!
NAKED DAENERYS!
[expletive] DRAGONS!
It was a good season finale. A lot of last week's episode wrapped up this season's main narratives and this week was about setting up next season. The closing scene was fantastic. [expletive] is on!

I'm halfway through book 4 now. I really hope the series makes it 7 seasons. It's going to be epic.

For some reason the video won't embed. Click for 8-bit version of GofT theme. No spoilers, just awesome music.

Yeah, it was awesome. I haven't read the books so...
[SHOW]
Dragons are gonna rock, I just hope on the right side of the war.
Loved the last scene, and the one when they were leaving to go past the wall.
Suprised they made Robb king. So, currently, there's 2 kings(Robb and Little [expletive]), plus Daenrys over the sea?
The first 10 minutes of the finale sure make me look forward to when Geoffrey is gonna get killed. I hope it's the littlest Stark that does it.

BOOK RELATED SPOILERS BELOW. DO NOT OPEN IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE BOOKS.
[SHOW]
I could see the show splitting from the book here, not in a plot sense but more to speed up what happens. Then again, who knows? It's just I know a lot of fans of the show who haven't read the books think it's just fully on right now, but in the books, we're at book 5 and Daenerys is still across the Narrow Sea and Jon still has no idea what the hell is coming from North of the wall. Of course fans of the books, realize that's the beauty of the series. Nothing is totally as it seems, no one is who they seem to be and often when you think one thing is going to happen, something else happens that is just as intriguing and important.

Here's another awesome recap of The Killing finale:
http://www.aoltv.com/2011/06/19/the-kil ... ale-recap/
Below are my thoughts on the Season 1 finale of 'The Killing.' You might say that I have many thoughts about it.

But don't read on unless you've seen the final episode of the season.

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. (I'm going to walk away now, imbibe a handful of sedatives, and come back when I am not frothing at the mouth...)

Okay. Some of the meds have kicked in. Let's start again.

Writing about television is a funny business. One day you're recommending a show's atmospheric aesthetics and measured pace, and three months later, you're wishing you could step into the Wayback Machine to take back every positive thing you ever said about the show.

Strap yourselves in, folks. Get ready for the angriest television-related screed I think I've ever written. I'm not sure how to start, except to say that I hated the season finale of 'The Killing' with the burning intensity of 10,000 white-hot suns.
Looks like I'm definitely in the majority.
