I agree with all the criticism The Killing finale and season in general have been getting. But, strangely, I didn't hate the finale.

After reading the two very good reviews thrill linked I thought I'd check to see what the NY Times had to say about the show. Umm, I don't think the reviewer has actually seen the finale. Link. Is it okay to publish reviews in major newspapers without actually watching the show in question? This review is the definition of pulling [expletive] out of your ass.

That looks like one of my last minute high school papers.

Well, the finale angered me. How dumb does the creator think we are.
[SHOW]
No answers, just questions. Out of nowhere questions. Just insane.
Holden would blow his career w/ a fake photo? For who? Had to be the billionaire. But still...
Richmond had to be in the car right? IF the photos was photoshopped, anyone could tell once it's analyzed. If it was just from a different camera, why not just say it.

On the NY Times review, maybe she just "gets it" and we don't.
Yes, Richmond killed Rosie, yes Belko killed him, yes he was in the car, Holden got the photo from someone that knew Richmond was the killer, but knew the cops couldn't get the evidence, Mitch is gone to depression. Everything's wrapped up. Just in a creative, I'm not going to spell it out for you way.
If season 2 just starts w/ a new cast, new story, this is the case and the NYT reviewer is smarter than us all.

Falling Skies was pretty good. That pisses me off though. Now I'm going to waste weeks on this show and it will ultimately disappoint me like every other show.

on these new borderline shows I'm finding that I just give it a while, see what the reaction is, and if it's well liked/going to last I'll torrent the episodes I missed and catch up. Did that with The Killing and am passing. Using the same strategy with Falling Skies.

I stopped at episode 6, haven't watched anything since. It's hard to give up on a show halfway through, but The Killing was just pissing me off.

I'm amazed more people haven't touched on the most insulting part of The Killing finale.
[SHOW]
When Linden approaches one of Richmond's mistresses at the park, the mistress asks if they have to do it here. She says she could just go and talk about it in front of her husband.

Or, he could just read the newspaper, since that's where Linden and Holder got their info anyways.

One of many things that are a slap in face to the audience. Cliffhangers and twists just for the sake of it. How freakin dumb.
