I think Wart and I both mentioned Sherlock. They really are terrific, and there's actually nothing I've seen that Steven Moffat's written that I haven't liked (many of my favorite Doctor Who episodes, Jekyll, Coupling, and Sherlock).ghostrunner wrote:I think someone mentioned the new Sherlock Holmes from the BBC a while back. I've only seen the first one just now, but along with Game of Thrones it's the best new show I've seen since I started watching Breaking Bad. Surprisingly fun too. It's cheesy but I caught myself grinning a few times. Martin Freeman is great and terribly under-used, though I guess that will change when the Hobbit comes out.
Anyway, sometimes reboots work. The 3 "episodes" made so far (they're about 90 minutes each) are up on Netflix streaming.

I thought it was just supposed to be that Walt was that good. Albert Pujols to Prince Fielder. He was supposed to be a big part of 'Gray Matter' that seemed to be leading in some interesting chemistry, no? I'm more bothered how he goes from the confident/cocky Gray Matter chemist/researcher (remember the 'what's the body made of' flashback?) to a kind of spazzy, unsure chemistry teacher.cpebbles wrote:It actually was bugging me in the prologue that a trained chemist was unable to approach the quality of what Walt was cooking up in an RV, but it wasn't as grating to me as Gus suddenly becoming a violently menacing figure.
Anyways, any comments on the latest episode?

Watching Wilfred humping "Bear" is probably never going to get old for me.

I never got the impression Walt was that cocky to start with, but he's definitely been worn down over a period of years. Likewise the transformation to criminal has been pretty gradual, and he's still the same insecure guy sometimes (like the part with Gus in the season premiere where he wouldn't shut up)vinsanity wrote:I thought it was just supposed to be that Walt was that good. I just learned that one of the co-creators of Parks and Rec (Mike Schur) was Ken Tremendous from Fire Joe Morgan. Awesome.

He was also Mose on the Office. I can't believe you just now realized that.ThatGuy wrote:I just learned that one of the co-creators of Parks and Rec (Mike Schur) was Ken Tremendous from Fire Joe Morgan. Awesome.

Oh, I knew he was Mose. But... yeah. Guess I'm late to the Ken Tremendous party.InvincibleCakeEater wrote:He was also Mose on the Office. "I am the Sir Edmund Hillary of [expletive] where you eat".
I can't believe that Curb is every bit as funny now as it's ever been. Larry saying "I'm so sorry" at a funeral with that smiley face on his forehead is one of my all-time favorite moments on that show.
