Brewers are Stealing Signs

Post by Fat Strat »

According to cpebbles and now Dave Duncan...
Sensing the Brewers had hacked their signs, the Cardinals changed them immediately after Morgan, and Carpenter struck out two of the next four batters to end the inning.

"If there's something there, there's something there," pitching coach Dave Duncan said. "If there's not, there's not."

Someone must have been relaying the sign for "hanging curveball" from the scoreboard in centerfield...

It is what it is, unless it isn't.

HAHAHAHAH. What a bunch of whiny mother [expletive]. Shut the [expletive] up and hit the [expletive] ball and don't let them do the same and you'll win a lot more games. For. [expletive]. Sake.

It will be interesting to see how the next two days go at least. If they suspect we can assume signs will be changed for the next two games and what happens if Jax and Garcia go out and tear through the lineups? Would it mean there's something to the accusation?

Might be valid, but we're "the boy who cried wolf" now.

It's almost statistically impossible for them not to have been stealing signs at home all year. Their home/road splits are beyond ridiculous. They aren't getting any real benefit from having a runner at second (Where sign-stealing is an accepted part of the game and most teams get a big boost). McGehee is pretty much the only player on the team not beating projections.

Besides, worst-case scenario, we piss off some Brewers fans needlessly.

Guys, the article talked about everything else. There is a blurb at the bottom where Duncan responded to something.

Do we really have to make it out to be more than it is?

ETA - teams steal signs (or try to) and people try to stop them from doing so. It's not like we are talking corked bats or something. Much ado about nothing.
