Anyone care to take a stab at what Obama's jobs bill will look like? How bold do you think he'll be?

LOL <---- that's how it will be.
A couple years ago I would have had visions of grandeur, huge infrastructure projects, great things happening. Now we know it will be a joke. Some tax cuts I'm sure, meaningless cuts to spending, there will be money to resurface a couple roads, etc. It will blow.

His jobs bill will concern itself with one job - his.planet pujolsian wrote:Anyone care to take a stab at what Obama's jobs bill will look like? How bold do you think he'll be?
Obama is a shill for the powers that be. If I had to guess, it will likely be some tuition assistance credits if you get a loan at a for-profit college for education in targeted fields. And jobs in these fields will net you a buck or two over minimum when you're done.

Frankly, I think the jobs bill is a campaign issue raised while Congress is in recess, and timed to coincide with the Iowa straw poll and Perry entering the Republican field. It's also something raised to appeal to his base and intrigue independents because the magical word "jobs" is in the conversation.
I don't see it going anywhere with the present House of Representatives, so he'll have some sprinkling of public-works projects and extended tax cuts, with mixed funding sources.

Any president who goes on a bus tour is engaging in a publicity stunt. You don't legislate from a bus, and you aren't going to get policy insights from Joe the Plumber or Nancy in Keokuk. The stimulus was Obama's first jobs bill and I am afraid he will propose another one, at which point shrieking in Congress will begin anew.

I want Obama to solve the weather first, but of course he's beholden to special interests like the tornado and flood lobbies and we'll just continue to endure this [expletive] until someone with some balls gets in there and says "no more."
