So, if we do re-sign Pujols, what do we do with our XBH smashing manatee? If he rakes again next year, do we move him for a vet? Similar-risk MiLBer at another position? Walrus sure worked out for us, could Matanee net us a very productive middle infielder through a trade?

I've alwas thought Texas would be a good trade partner. They've got two SS in their top 10 prospects and Andrus already providing good, cheap production. Adams looks better as a DH and Texas doesn't need that many SS.

Wong will soon be at least Weeks right? And likely better in 4 of the 5 tools.Cronos wrote:Matt Adams for Jemile Weeks?Maclowery wrote:So, if we do re-sign Pujols, what do we do with our XBH smashing manatee? With Moreland, Beltre, and Chris Davis, they've got an abundance of 3B/1B/DH types. Beltre will obviously be the everyday third baseman, so I assume Moreland and Davis will be the 1B/DH's.

Davis is in Baltimore, and Moreland is a 26 year old 1B with a career 98 OPS+. I don't think they'd be disinterested in a 1B/DH type.

Thanks TFT. I didn't realize that Davis had gone to Baltimore. And I didn't realize that Moreland had been that bad this year. Mid-season, his numbers were really good.

Re: Matt "hey remember me" Adams
Well I looked at the numbers anyway thinking maybe Adams would project better than Moreland:
Moreland: 23 at AA .391/.527/.918 and .383/.509/.892 for the minors
Adams: 22 at AA .357/.566/.923 and .365/.552/.917 for the minors
And doesn't OBP translate better to the majors? it's clear his power is real, but we don't know if he can handle ML pitching and get OB enough to be a valuable hitter. Profar is the 74th ranked prospect by BA last year so I'm not sure how the Rangers would feel about a prospect swap. Plus, don't most teams prefer to use their prospects to aquire vets at the deadline rather than swap two top 100 prospects?
