That's right, hammer him with negative metrics and stats.

Well, all I have to say about that game last night is this:

Next time you guys start a [expletive] fest about TLR, just remember the game that our bleeding dolt of a manager gave you last night by starting a 47 year old man in CF.

It's very possible the Cardinals still would have won if the Brewers had, you know, started a CF in CF, but it was a lot less likely.

I hate Ron Roenicke. Hate him.

Good luck tonight, and if you're going to the game, wear a hard hat if you're sitting in the bleachers. First team to 7 wins.

In the first inning, Carlos Gomez definitely would have caught that flare by Jay, and I'm pretty sure he would have caught Pujols' double. Granted Carlos wouldn't have hit that home run that Kotsay hit...

I was very puzzled by why he put Kotsay in center. I figured he wanted to improve his center field defense after Nyjer was all over the place missing bullets from Pujols the night before.

The very idea that Kotsay in CF was a good idea is mind-boggling.

Put him in RF if you insist on playing him. It's not like Hart is doing anything, and his defense is not much better than Kotsay's.

Plus if Kotsay started in RF, Berkman could brag that he was the best RF in the game.

You should be.

I was thinking that last night -- boy, I bet signthief and other smart Brewers fans are raving about this move. I saw the reasoning behind it -- Kotsay has hit Carpenter some and has more experience against him. But, the loss of defense in such a key spot on the field with your ace on the mound? Tough to take. I would have been screaming at the TV if our equivalent of Mark Kotsay -- Corey Patterson -- had been out there in that situation.

Two big gaffs and then the HR that didn't quite make up for it. Roenike definitely helped us today.

So, crack open an ice cold Budweiser, signtheif. Because Reonike is a real man of genius.

Pretty much. Roenicke did this early in the year with Kotsay too. Started him in PetCo (can you imagine?). I sat there watching that game and said to myself "I really hope we lose this game because Kotsay butchers CF so this imbecile won't try this again". Well, he didn't butcher it, but I believe that game in May was the last time he sent him out there. Until.Game.3.of.the.NLCS.

Shoot me.

In 107 years of postseason baseball, only three other teams have scored in the first inning five games in a row. The Cardinals are now the fourth.
