Hulu has some neat interviews with the cast. Last night I watched one - the writer (or creator or whatever) said that he had planned on killing jessie off (in a horrific manner) very early - but the writers strike interrupted his plan. And he reconsidered.

The first episode of Weed Wars portrayed surprisingly accurately what a sham the "medicinal" marijuana business is, considering the executive producer was saying shooting the series made him think of it as a much more legitimate enterprise than he had previously thought.

Had heard about the show and just happened to flip to Discovery last night right when it was starting. I thought the exact same thing. Very little legitimate "medicinal" talk. A whole lot of "we're love weed". How in the world those guys think they are going to let Discovery film this, show it, and then not get their backsides handed to them by the feds is beyond me. I don't pretend to know the federal and state laws, but they let the cameras in to their main growing area and gave the growers names and everything. Is it not illegal to grow marijuana? Am I missing something about the laws in California?

It's not illegal, if you're licensed. My buddy owns a licensed, legal farm near Riverside.

Well, it's not illegal, other than by federal law.

We know California doesn't follow those silly American laws.

Nobody should follow this one anyway.

When I heard the train coming, I laughed my ass off and had a "no, please don't do this" moment.
