Brutal. Cheering for laundry. $40 million is a lot of money though, and yes, even on top of $220 million, $40 million is a lot of money.

G'luck you Albert. I am not going to boo you, but I am not applauding you anymore. Hope you stay healthy and you get your individual milestones, but I hope you languish while watching the Cardinals succeed without you.

I keep hearing comments like this, and I simply don't understand it. Saying "I want to retire a Cardinal" to me says, "all things equal, St. Louis is where I want to play." It does not mean, "I am willing to stay in St. Louis, even if I'm playing for $40-60M less."

And this is why they have the competitive balance picks...

Apparently the Angels TV deal is jumping from 50M a year to 150M a year. The Cards being in St Louis will never get a sniff of a 150M a year contract deal even if the Cards are World Series champs every single year.

They can have the Rams back if that's the case.

Well said.

Lots of people turning on the guy. I'm not going to be mad at him until he says something stupid at his presser.
Pujols was how I made peace with the Theriots of the world. Hope the new team doesn't have holes like that.

Glad my dad just bought my son a red "Pujols 5 foundation" jacket that is sized for a 3 year old. That'll be nice to have.

It is what it is, so moving on: the new CBA kind of confuses me. What does this mean in terms of compensation picks, etc?
