Probably already posted by somebody, but I'm angry - not because Albert took the money, so much. I'm angry because he specifically said that it wasn't just about the money. It clearly was JUST about the money. The Cardinals have won 2 World Series' in 6 years. It's not about winning for Albert.

I've lost respect for him.

A new era of Cardinal baseball is upon us - post-TLR, post-Albert - and frankly I'm kind of excited.

Plus now there won't be any confusion as to which statue to meet at.
I'm in the same boat. None of the replacement players will hit Albert level. But it's going to be fun seeing players like Craig and Matt mothergrabbin' Adams get a shot and see what they can do. The future is still good for the Cardinals.

**This. It's not the end of the world, just the end of an ERA. I'm ready for some new blood. I'm disappointed, but that's OK. Still a baseball fan, still a Cardinal fan. Maybe still a Pujols fan.....

Disagree. It's not that he took that much money to go and play for the Orioles, Pirates, Cubs or Royals. If he had done that, then yes, it would have been only for the money.

The Angels are a good team ready to win right now, with a good manager and a payroll (that has obviously become ginormous) dedicated to winning.

I'm not really upset about this. The Angels offer is a great offer, and I don't blame him for taking it. At the same time, such an offer would seriously hamper the Cardinals chances of being competitive down the road.

So thanks for the great baseball and the two championships. Time to move on.

Yeah, and doing this, the Angels further whip the Dodgers in the market share battle for LA metropolis.

If he says anything other than it was the best offer I don't want to hear it.

He'd better not say anything about respect or disrespect either.

Mind you, unless the Angels win a flock of championships, Pujols' cap in Cooperstown will be a Cardinals cap.

It's tough to argue the Cardinals are a better team come spring training than the Angels....
