Well, technically correct... but if you believe the 10/220 Cards offer than no, he left for a 12% increase over his current employer's offered raise. To a market that will be at least an 18% increase in expenses. He took less money in terms of value.
I wouldn't take a 12% raise and have to move to a place that is 18% more expensive to live in.
Look, I'm sure it sounds... whatever... but I honestly hope he gets a career ending injury in ST and never plays an inning for them. I hope the Angels are so harmstrung by the contract that they don't have a season over .500 for the length of the contract.
Why? It's not a vendetta (well, maybe a tad), this would simply keep him as ours.
You can say "He had a right to go wherever he wanted" and I will 100% agree with you. But then don't say "You can't be upset" because I have that right to feel however I want. And I'm angry because of this:

No... it was just the biggest factor, so he was deceptive...
If he didn't say that, I wouldn't be angry. I'd be sad of course, but I can't think of him without thinking of that quote, and how it was a lie.
He's still the best player I've ever seen, but he's a liar.
