Hard to blame Pujols (or the Cardinals organization for that matter). He gets everything he wanted: Full no-trade clause (location security), relative obscurity and privacy (he's just one star among many--both sports and otherwise--in LA, and playing a second-fiddle sport for a second-fiddle club to boot), a chance to win (the Angels are well run, well managed, well financed, and almost always competitive), and tons of money.

An extra 65 million can do a lot of good in this world in the right hands, and I'm sure Pujols will be putting that money to work for some really good causes.

Objective rationalizations aside, though, I'm disillusioned and sad...both as a Cardinals fan and as a baseball fan. This one will take awhile to get over.

Has he had any injuries other than breaking his kneecap? I don't remember him having any injuries where his body just broke down.

I'd think he'd still be in as a Card.

Assuming he plays the full 10 years of his contract in Anaheim, he'd still have played one more season with the Cards.

Though, he could break the all time HR record as an Angel.

Helluva point, Mike.
We got the best, they get the rest.

I think he pretty much has to path Ruth or win two rings in ANA to have that hat.

But it could be rose colored glasses.

He can wear their hat. I could care less. We got the best deal in sports history, now he's going to go get old in Anaheim.

I don't think it's going to hit me that he is no longer here until Opening Day in Miami, when someone other than Albert will be starting at first base.
