Yes. I'm high on Craig and think he can play the position better than berkman.a_smith wrote:I like the optimism.AWvsCBsteeeerike3 wrote:Let's look at it this way. okay......
Wano is going to offset the decline in the rotation that will happen from 2011.
The bullpen will be better. Say a couple wins.
Berkman replaces pujols. Loss of a couple wins.
OF stays the same. Maybe a win or two better with Craig.
Infield outside 1B improves a couple wins if they resign Furcal and keep Theriot out of SS and Freese stays healthy....
I don't feel too bad. Use that $$ for whatever glaring hole they see *cough* SS/2B *cough*
I am not feeling too bad.
Obvious KEY positions: John Jay, Allen Craig, 2B, SS
AW- it looks to me like the OF gets worse when you replace Berkman's 2011 with Craig. Are you that high on Craig that you think that he adds a win or two above Berkman in 2011?
We also need to add to the bench to have someone give us production that we got from Craig now that Craig is an everyday player.

Might as well let him wear an Angels cap. I Don't even care what the hell he does anymore.

Re: Pujols Signs With Angels
I've never understood this rationalization. It's not like the $65 million was created by Pujols signing this contract. If he did not, the money would have been spent elsewhere. So, it's really about the fact that Albert gets to decide what to do with it rather than someone else. Is Albert really going to direct the majority of this gain to charity, or will more go to large houses, luxury consumption, and family members? And how effective are athlete run charitable organizations really? Not that I really want to criticize what Pujols does with his income, I'm sure he means well, but I think it's kind of silly to believe there is any great social good done by giving lots of money to already rich athletes.EastonBlues22 wrote:An extra 65 million can do a lot of good in this world in the right hands, and I'm sure Pujols will be putting that money to work for some really good causes.

It's unlikely any of us will ever see a ped free 10 year run like pujols just had for the rest of our lives. It's also unlikely he has as many moments as he did in Stl in anaheim.Radbird wrote:Helluva point, Mike.mikechamp wrote:Silver lining on this potentially cloudy day:

Can they mail it to him COD? Also, maybe they should forget to package it very well and maybe it could get a little damaged in transit. I like that idea.docellis wrote:so when will albert get his WS ring?

Let's also not forget we didn't lose pujols the invincible. He's gonna put up what like 40 war over 10 years? Pshhhh. 4 war a year for a 1b? Mmga [expletive] Atleast twice that every morning. Sometimes at night too.

Re: Pujols Signs With Angels
I don't understand that at all. His next 10 years there are probably going to have to trump the 11 he had here, or at least come close. That means 3 pennants, 2 WS titles, 3 MVP awards (and 4 second place finishes), 2,073 hits, 445 HRs, 2 Gold Gloves... Does anyone really think his next 10 years are going to be more fruitful than that? Or even come close?doe_boy wrote:William Leitch wrote:“Some debate about what hat Albert wears into Cooperstown.
