IIRC, Albert got every question right on his citizenship exam.planet puma wrote:I'm never going to make a judgment about anyone until I actually meet them. I will say I don't think Deidre nor Albert have displayed intelligence cards in this negotiation process.Richie Allen wrote:First thing I ever remember hearing his wife say is how dumb he is about everything but baseball, or something along those lines.docellis wrote:So it made me wonder. What if Albert is only smart at hitting baseballs and isn't very intelligent?
Edit: Yup, http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2758836
But then I looked at these, got them all right without ever studying, and question the difficulty of the test.

I know a guy who swears he sat next to Albert in Spanish class at Maple Woods. He copied off of Albert on a test and then was really confused when he bombed it.

I think for my own sanity I'm done checking in this thread. I wanted Pujols back for largely emotional reasons, and he won't be for purely financial ones. There's nothing more I really wish to know about his departure.

For those out of STL GRBers -It is even worse living in St. Louis. Non-baseball fans, children, loca media, letters to the editors, in-laws, and Kevin Slatens ...it is a Pujols onslaught ....because they have nothing better to do.heyzeus wrote:I think for my own sanity I'm done checking in this thread. It's not safe to tune into any local media -sports or otherwise, because not much else is going on other than stretching out this Pujols deal a bit longer. Deidre Deidre Deidre! The weather isn't the best (I actually like it but it does sour the mood). Rams are deplorable, SLU ILL MIZZ...Blues -all playing well,..but basically they are in meaningless spring training-ish games until February.
I agree, it is time to stop breathing the fetid air.

Not going to post the whole video, but Aerosmith's song "What It Takes" includes a line I think we'd all like to ask Albert...
Tell me how it is that you can sleep in the night without thinking you've lost everything that was good in your life to the toss of the dice?

This is probably one of the reasons it's been relatively easy for me to move on. I spoke with my STL-based family and a few friends about it. Talked about it a little on the internet. I heard a little about it on sports radio due to Chicago being a rival. And that was it.Freed Roger wrote:For those out of STL GRBers -It is even worse living in St. Louis. Whether it was a sound financial decision or not, it shouldn't be easy when a great franchise loses the generation's best player 10 weeks after winning the World Series. It should suck immensely and people should react the way they want to react.
