If only NBC, and people with Nielsen boxes, loved Community as much as everyone else does.Jocephus wrote:random site's best 50 best episodes of 2011

I started watching Sons of Anarchy this weekend over netflix. What a stupid piece of contrived garbage. All the characters are ridiculously cartoonish and the show is full of non nonsensical plot developments.
Stay away.

Non-nonsensical. That's pretty good. So I guess it's full of "sensical" plot developments. Is that what you're saying, boss?
If it were cartoonish the characters would be subject to extreme violence and come out relatively unscathed. Well, moving on...
Seriously, I think the cast is pretty great and I'd go so far as to say Season 2 is excellent, but it's been downhill since. The 3's Company style plot devices where some characters conveniently don't know things have piled on too much, and the unnecessary lies continue to stack up for no good reason other than deliberately create conflict. The same things that were good and bad about The Shield apply to this show. I finished out this season (4) but I'm probably done with it now.

Hah, me and my darn typos.
Seriously, there is no defending this character:

I could go on and on but I won't.

I've officially started Justified. I'm a little less than halfway done with the first season. It's decent so far, but not blowing me away.

I don't think it's supposed to. It'll draw you in, and there are some damn fine acting performances. The plots are run of the mill, but it's a very great sorbet if you will - something to cleanse the pallet after a Walking Dead or Game of Thrones. It probably has one good season left in it - I hope this coming season is its last.JL21 wrote:I've officially started Justified. I'm a little less than halfway done with the first season. BTW, I'll watch anything written by Elmore Leonard, so there's that.

The second season of Justified was a big step up. It started out a little too much like a network procedural case-of-the-week show and developed a strong overarching story at the end of the first season and certainly into the second.
