That looked like a catch to me for Virginia Tech.

Yeah. I'd say it was iffy, and thus too iffy to overturn the initial call. Too bad for that kid (but I was rooting for UM so I ain't mad haha!)

It looked to me like it hit the ground. I was kind of shocked that they called it a catch to begin with.
Virginia Tech is 2-for-2 now at losing BCS games to teams that I hate who undeservedly received BCS bowl bids.

Ya this damn contest has me forgetting my rooted hatred of OSU and UM. Ew picking against my crappy Hawks and choosing the wolverines? For shame! (7 for 7 in 2012 /selfjinx)

I guess that's one of the weird quirks of SEC football. You're supposed to hate each other during conference season and then pull for all of your conference peers during bowl season. That's going to be really hard for me with South Carolina and Alabama.

Yeah, most of the more lifelong (aka not my fairweather ass) Iowa guys support the other B1G or whatever its called now once its bowl time. I just loathe OSU unnaturally and Michigan wasn't far behind in the mid Aughts. Its a bummer, of enough, as the SEC really seems to wallop the B1G.

Did you root for the Big 12 during bowl season in the past?JL21 wrote:I guess that's one of the weird quirks of SEC football. Not really. I have friends who are Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas Tech fans, so I'd generally pull for those teams whenever it didn't affect Mizzou. It really didn't have anything to do with their Big XII affiliation, though. It's because I wanted my friends teams to do well. I pulled for Iowa St., but that was very similar to the way in which you pull for Sean Penn to get custody of his kid in "I Am Sam".AWvsCBsteeeerike3 wrote:Did you root for the Big 12 during bowl season in the past?JL21 wrote:I guess that's one of the weird quirks of SEC football. In the last year, I actively rooted against Texas, and obviously always loathe KU. And the rest... meh.
