Just finished season 4 of Breaking Bad.

WOW!

Crawl Space was my favorite episode, of course. After that I thought it tied up a little too nicely. But, very excited to see what the final season holds.

I have a friend (who happens to be from Albuquerque actually) who said that the only way this can end is for Walt to die, and either Hank or Jesse kills him. Can't say I disagree.

I can see it going darker, with Walt/Jesse growing into the space left by Gus, becoming kingpins, and ultimately killing Hank when he gets too close to busting them. Then the series ends sort of open ended, with the viewer left to decide what ultimately becomes of Walt down the road.

Walt confronted his death and accepted it in season one, only choosing to seek treatment after Skylar forced him into it. Yeah, he's been motivated by fear of death since, but what he's really afraid of is being exposed for what he is, to his son and everyone else. He's earned that fate, and it's the way the show has to end.

That's sort of what I'm thinking, too. Getting busted- especially by Hank- would be a fate far worse than death for Walt. And I think it's one of several viable options for the way it could end.
The show's writing is so unique and fresh that I've long since given up trying to figure out where it's headed. They always come up with surprises and the series finale should be no different.

I think Walt was afraid of that, being exposed to Skyler and Junior, while he was still essentially the old Walt. As the show went along though, and his criminality progressed, Walt drew increasing pride and identity from his criminal endeavors. He thinks of himself as a kingpin now and he wants others to know it. He wants to be found out. Deep down he wants Hank to know so that he can throw it in Hank's face and feel the respect that comes with it.

Yeah, caught on to it after the wife started watching. For some reason the fact that it's a soap opera and yet another British drawing room drama doesn't put me off. I think it's the equal time given to the house staff that makes it work. Maybe it's the fact that it's not filmed on tape with god-awful lighting like the old BBC stuff. And at least it's post-Victorian for a change. But O'Brien and Thomas are ridiculous.

Just watched Gervais' Golden Globes monologue. Kind of sucked.
Speaking of SOPA, has anyone watched 'Life's too Short' yet?
