And yes, there is such thing as an underrated 15-1 team.

I literally have not heard any non-packer fan predict that the Packers will win the super bowl. I've heard more than half of the teams in the playoffs predicted as super bowl champions.

Obviously this is solely personal experience, and maybe this happens every year just because people like to root for the underdogs and I'm just paying more attention now. But it certainly didn't seem that way when the Patriots, Colts, Saints, and Steelers were on top.

I don't know, I haven't gotten that sense at all. It was like Christmas came early around here when the Chiefs beat them. That loss plus all the Tebow drama down the stretch made them a lot less newsworthy to the national media with the perfect season off the table. Rodgers still certainly got his due. Between him and Tebow, Drew Brees breaking the record was almost an afterthought. I have been avoiding ESPN quite a bit lately, but I always assumed they were the presumptive favorite. The media has to talk up other teams too in order to maintain interest from casual fans.

FWIW coming into today Vegas had the Packers at 8/5 to win the super bowl. Next best was the Pats at 5/2. Obviously some people out there like the Packers to win. 8/5 with three games left to play is pretty strong.

I'm not sure what his religion has to do with anything. The San Fran game was ripe with excitement, unlikely comebacks and the great story of an athletic QB who overcame the adversity of inconsistent teams and coaching to lead his team to a playoff victory in one of the most exciting 2 minutes in NFL playoff history. One could almost call his drives miraculous behind the stellar play of a QB. Seems refreshing.

It is the shiny new penny deal. The Packers were the penny for awhile. Then got boring. Then Tebow came along. Then the Saints. Then the Giants are all of a sudden the hottest team in the NFL (What?). Really even the Patriots are boring.

All people want to talk about is that shiny new penny to show how ahead of the curve they are. It is annoying really.

That was a great game. I was actually surprised and glad to see SF win that game. I've about had my fill of "who dat!".
