The Wagonmaker looking better, so far. Forgot this game had already started.

is his velocity back up?

Or is he just looking better because he is facing the scrub lineup?

Looks similar to what Fat labeled last time. Sinker is 89-90. 83-84 MPH change.

AW's 3rd inning:

Arroyo:
1. 81 mph change
2. 83 mph slider
3. 74 mph slurve (not a true curve)
4. 88 mph FB lined hard (for a pitcher) to RF for the out

Lots of line drives off FB's, but he's getting ahead.

Cozart
1. 89 mph FB strike
2. 83 mph slider in the dirt
3. 89 mph FB high for swinging strike. Nice pitch. up and unhittable, but looked good to hitter.
4. 84 mph slider outside.
5. 84 mph slider low and away. Nice pitch but no swing.
6. 89 mph FB crushed to deep CF.

That FB is getting crushed. I don't care what Horton says. Took a nice play by Jay to catch it over the shoulder and on the run.

Drew
1. 88 mph FB swinging strike.
2. 83 mph slider, foul
3. 75 mph curve in the dirt, inside
4. 91 mph FB low for the swinging strike.

That was better. I said I wanted fewer 87's and so far so good. Command is very good today. That's really key.

Man, I know its early but a loss here would put the Reds 6 games back. Thats demoralizing.
