I didn't actively want him to fail, but I'd by lying if I denied having a sense of schadenfreude at his early struggles. It does make me wonder how he'd have done had he stayed. I'm not convinced last year wasn't an outlier (led the MLB in OPS+ the previous three years) but it's curious to see.Hungary Jack wrote:I doubt many people here or anywhere wish him bad luck. But when you make that much money and are as vocal as he has been, it's bound to stir up some resentment. He should have taken the high road after his signing.

Re: Pujols..ha
If he were struggling like this for the Yankees or the Cubs, he would be getting booed and roasted in the press and hounded by the media.
If he were struggling like this for the Cards, he would be given a "That's-ok-keep-working-you'll-get-it" from the fans and Mo would be roasted in the press and fans.
But because he's doing it in LA, he's just going to get ignored. They'll stop caring soon, and then move onto next thing - Hoping the Lakers win another championship or enabling Metta Ron Peace Artest World or hoping for an NFL franchise or remembering they have an NHL team. Then they'll move on to the next distraction.
Apathy is much worse than hatred.
And if AP weren't struggling, Arte Merano looks like a hero and a genius. But now, what few fans they have are calling for Sciocia's head.
BTW...if he were struggling like this for the Marlins...it doesn't matter because nobody would be there to see it.

If he were in St. Louis I think the response would be much closer to Holliday's start. *shrug*

Got a single and ran into an out at 2nd again. He would have scored on Hunter's single or Trumbo's double. I wonder how many times he's done that so far this season.
