My nephew is named Seamus. Same hipster nonsense.

I told her she was damning him to a life of spelling it for people three times a day just because the father's great great grandparents lived in Ireland or some [expletive]. She didn't care.

Seamus is at least a traditional irish name. Indie is something you name a pet.

My friend's pit bull is named Seamus.

Haltz, as soon as your nephew is old enough to get it, have a talk with him about how he can just tell people his name is Shea.

My wife is Linda and her sister is Carolyn. There's a million Linda's our age. I don't think I've run across a young Linda in, well, I can't think of one. I can think of one Carolyn.

I have a friend named Linda who is 29 but we joke about the fact that there are so few Lindas that age and call her Aunt Linda. Sometimes I also call her Gertrude but that's a long story.

I have an Aunt Linda and had a Grandma Gertrude.

You wonder if someday names like that will make a comeback.

Even simple names like Sue, Jane and Mary aren't all that common today. And guys names like Bob, Bill and Jim. When I get together with my 6 buds from high school, 3 of us are named Bob.

There is a Turkish girl in my class who chooses to go by "Johnson." I have no idea how she chose that but it's kinda awesome.

Liam is short for William, and there are LOTS of Liams these days - esp kids under 10. I know a few Wills, too.
